Adidas is a fashion brand and their primary focus is to create good looking clothes with quality as a secondary objective. Their products are not built to last a lifetime and Adidas does not claim they are. General consensus is that sneakers and running shoes are never a BIFL purchase, and Adidas achieves an expected reasonable quality but nothing to write home about.

Some of their products come with a 6 month warranty. This warranty however covers only true defects with the product and will therefore most of the time not be honored. Note also that over 80% of their production happens in low wage countries, while the rest is produced in Europe. This indicates further that their main concern is profit rather than creating good products.

Adidas aims to become a carbon neutral company over the long term. Their current goal is to do this by 2050, which is everything but ambitious. By 2025 however, they want to have 9/10 items sold to be 'sustainable'. They define this rather vaguely as 'created with ecologically better materials than conventional'.

That being said, they are a large company which means they can and do support quite a lot of smaller sustainability and humanitarian projects. Any effort towards these goals is good, but they are minimal compared to the size of the company and cannot get in the way of their profit margins.

TL;DR

Adidas is not a BIFL brand and neither do they claim to be. As a fashion brand, their products are decent quality.

I've had lots of Adidas products over the years. Most wear out after some time. They are just an average big clothing company manufacturing in low-cost countries.
